Being Digital

From “Paperless Tip” at Lawyerist.com:

Never ever ever send a Word file as “correspondence.” A Word file — or a WordPerfect, OpenOffice.org, or Pages file — is not a document. PDFs are documents. Word files are drafts. And sending a draft that includes your digital letterhead and signature to anyone is just plain stupid.

Anyone with a little digital smarts can copy your signature, turn it into a graphics file and then use the file to sign your name to whatever they want. But why make it brain-dead simple by sending a Word file as “correspondence” with a digital copy of your signature embedded in it that they need only copy with ‘Ctrl-C’?
