John Loukidelis

John restricts his practice to income tax law. He provides tax advice to business owners, accountants and other lawyers. John’s Tax Court experience includes dealing with complex tax litigation on behalf of public and private corporations.

John has almost three decades of tax law experience gained at some of Canada’s premiere law firms and a national chartered accounting firm. With that experience, John provides understandable, workable advice, not theoretical or academic counsel that can bog down the business process.

John has written numerous articles for various publications and delivered many speeches for professional organizations including the Canadian Bar Association and the Ontario Bar Association. He also maintains a blog on tax topics of interest to owner-managed businesses and their advisers.

John attended Trinity College at the University of Toronto, where he obtained a B.A. with Honours in history and philosophy. He attended the University of Maryland at College Park on a full academic scholarship where he obtained an M.A. in history. John received his law degree, with Honours, from the University of Toronto in 1993. He was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1995. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association and the Hamilton Law Association.

In his spare time, John likes to read, row and cycle. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees of Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto and the Lay Advisory Committee of the Sisters of St Joseph of Hamilton. He lives in Hamilton with his wife.
