Public relations and battling fraud

Judging by a recent press release, the CRA has hired a new public relations officer. The release announces a new report that

looks at how the Canada Revenue Agency contributes to Canadian society through the collection of revenue, the distribution of benefit payments, and the administration of tax credits and various legislation on behalf of our clients.

The CRA also recently released an “alert” about email and phone scams. The release contains a link to www.phonebusters.com, a government of Canada website that bills itself as “The Canadian Anti-fraud Call Centre.”
